This group discussion will delve into challenging questions about how we approach cancer prevention.
The latest research surrounding the positive impact of a healthy lifestyle – a balanced diet and regular exercise – on reducing cancer risk remains largely absent in medical school training, general practice, and the oncology community. Indeed, too often, primary care and prevention are conflated, and an emphasis on other factors like genetics and early detection overshadows the possible impacts of lifestyle. But why?
This group discussion will delve into challenging and sometimes uncomfortable questions about health responsibility to try to understand how we can empower society to engage with cancer prevention.
